The Kijun Sen line, which forms the basis of today's strategy, is part of the exceptional Ichimoku indicator, which offers traders countless trading options that can achieve great success in a short time.
Unlike moving averages, the Kijun Sen line does not undergo constant changes in value, which is a great advantage especially when markets move so-called sideways.
Strategy entry rules
Entering long positions
- Hitting Kijun Sen from above
Entering short positions
- Hitting Kijun Sen from below
The chart below shows a session of Kijun Sen's hits, which in today's strategy represent important entry signals that result in immediate entry into a trading position.
Note: In order to protect against minor market corrections, the SL in the case of today's strategy is usually placed a few dozen pips above/below the Kijun Sen line. Profit-Target is usually not set here, as the exit of a position in profit usually occurs with the next hit of the Kijun Sen line.
Since the Kijun Sen can provide a particularly high number of trading signals over time, it is worth combining this line with a slow moving average, for example, with which some of the "excess" signals can be filtered out.
With today's Kijun Sen strategy it shouldn't be a problem to achieve a success rate of around 50%, but a skilled trader can undoubtedly achieve better results, it all depends on the experience and skills that traders have.
